Joesph

Joseph

David Rim

Joseph was a successful man in Egypt. A nice looking man that has the world in front of him was being tempted by his masters wife (Genesis 39:7). And later he avoided the temptation by fleeing and left his garments (v.12). Does it sound familiar to you? I want you. I desire you. Lie with me. But Joesph fled and left his garments. But how does she know to cry and weep loudly to draw attention. And all the people in the area automatically saw the garments and the distressed woman believing in the words (without innocent until proven guilty). The woman lied to her husband and gave false testimony which God dislikes. All for her own selfish desires.

And the husband in anger, irrationally threw Joseph in jail (v.20)

Isn't it ironic a story from the Bible years ago reflect the patterns of how this world tends to operate. Women comes onto man. Man flees and leaves a simple article of clothing. Then women makes up lies out of distress for the man would not lie with her. But the women is married. However, if you are called by God. God will be with you, protect you and the world will have to leave you alone. With false accusations and false charges for whatever reason gets thrown to prison. The patterns of the world thousands of years ago still being repeated to present age. Yet, a deep wisdom has been sitting in this story.

It reminds me of God telling us not to be lukewarm. We are either x or y, it's black or white, and not this gray area where we start muddying right and wrong. A selective area that the evil spirits love for us to play with in joy. At our expense. It's difficult to lay everything down in surrender. Yet, life's most peaceful when you have nothing to worry about. Joseph, wanting to just live was dealt some bad hands. God always had a different plan in mind though.

Be strong, courageous and salt~
